Casino Night

I had the pleasure of attending A Forever Home’s Casino Night. A Forever Home Rescue Foundation (AFH) is a non-profit dog rescue group that operates within the Northern Virginia/Washington Metropolitan area.
A Forever Home is close to my heart as I adopted my dog from them 7 years ago. I went to one of their events at the local Petco and my life was forever changed. When I saw Keeley (they named her Dora) I knew she was my pup. AFH was extremely through in making sure Keeley was going to a good home. I had an interview, a house inspection and a short training prior to receiving my pup.
Over the years, AFH has continued to help many dogs find forever homes. Starting as small family business, they have continued to grow and have saved over 20,000 dogs to date. That is no small feat! Once they pledge to rescue a dog, they provide whatever level of care is necessary to make sure he/she is adoption ready. If, for any reason, the house they go to is not a good fit, they will take care of the dog until they find him or her another home. So when they say “A Forever Home” they really mean it!
The time I was able to spend with the staff and support of AFH was incredible. They have formed such a nice family, all striving to help find dogs a great home. I could feel the love and support everyone had towards the AFH mission. As an example, they had a 50/50 raffle (where you buy a ticket(s) and half of the pot goes towards the charity and the other half to the individual who won). The woman who won the AFH 50/50 raffle gave his half back to AFH.
There are numerous ways to help A Forever Home. Please visit their website or send an email to [email protected] and we will get you connected!
